Mother Nature held out for us and the Annual OFD Inspection went on without a hitch. Countless hours of hard work and dedication go into maintaining our apparatus. Yes these rigs are judged for cleanliness during inspection, but this is also the time where every piece of equipment gets that extra care & attention. Making sure all our tools are ready to go in a moments notice is normal practice, but the in-depth cleaning and care is always during this time of year.
This would be the first inspection for the new Engine 100 & Utility 51. Local dignitaries and invited guests would get the chance to “inspect” the membership along with the rest of the OFD fleet. The Clinton W. Crawford Award for the Best Appearing Apparatus was awarded to Engine 97. Judging of the rigs was conducted by the Westchester County Parade Judges Association.
We thank the WCPJA for your judging services. As you scroll through the photos, we hope it’s evident the level of pride and care we take in our equipment. We would also like to thank the community and board for the support and equipment we are able to obtain we take pride in and protect our citizens with. |
