On Sunday April 24th, the OFD held an Open House/Recruitment Drive at our Headquarters on State St. This event was held in conjunction with the FASNY (Firefighters Association of the State of New York) “Recruit New York” Initiative. This gave the OFD the opportunity to show our community what we do, how we train, our equipment, and how you can be a part of your community and volunteer with us.

We had participated a few years back prior to the Pandemic, but weather wasn’t cooperating and made for a nasty day. This time around, we couldn’t have asked for a better day! Fire Truck rides, live demonstrations, refreshments, and an opportunity to actual see how we train was a fun filled day for the whole family.

The day would be a huge success thanks to the membership, our recruitment committee, and YOU the community for coming and supporting us! We had many interested neighbors consider joining and hopefully you might also. We are going to be holding an orientation very soon to explain the process and necessary information to becoming one of Ossining’s Bravest. We challenge you to consider giving back to your community, helping your fellow neighbor, and meet your local volunteers and join us!
